Purple Cabbage Noodles
Purple seems to be the new "Olive Green" for me this month, the latter being my most favourite colour. I have been experimenting with purple cabbage the past couple of days and it was purely incidental.
When I look back, Oh My...I did the purple coleslaw which is on my FB page (closed) The Inconsistent Chef...I am yet to update that recipe here on the blog. I will update that here some time this week.
After the purple coleslaw, I came up with the purple cups/parcels (previous post) with the freshness of a few crunchy veggies. And here is the next-Purple noodles.
Who doesn't like noodles? Even Mandira Bedi made a dash for this in her blouses (her noodle straps) when she anchored cricket for some time. That's the beautiful Mandira in one of those noodle straps (not really made of noodles-Facepalm!)
She and I go way back when she used to be the beautiful Shanti in the soap named the same. Oh she had such gorgeous curlz back then...why do these women go and straighten their hair and spoil all those natural curlz? I despise that straightened hair look! Indeed Mandira remains as gorgeous as ever but to me her curlz were something I have admired for a very long time!
Bought a pack of these noodles and cooked it the way you would any pasta or noodle. To it I added sliced onions, ginger juliennes, purple cabbage and broccoli along with the spice powder found within the packet along with other instructions and this small thingie I found. If all the above mentioned is true then Yeaaaaaay!!! I do have cabbage both cooked and in salads almost on a weekly basis.
These packets come in three to four flavours and colours-the spinach, tomato, purple cabbage and one more (forgot what it was...perhaps plain) I did not add any additional salt other than when the noodles were cooking until al dente. The salt is present in the spice powder sachet that accompanies the pack so do taste and add if required.
My final ensemble was this, the picture didn't turn out too good! Sorry about that, but I just enjoyed a whole plate of this while it was piping hot along with tomato sauce.
The rest of the family has some chicken to go along with this.
