Aloe Vera Buttermilk (inspired from a video)

I do have a huge Aloe Vera growing in my balcony...have had it for years. Never really used it for anything other than weapons of pigeon destruction when the birds come to nest in my balcony. I love birds but I don't like them nesting where I tender my cute lil garden. I have several cacti...there is some attraction between me and cactus.

Without sounding like a deprived and attention seeking adult...in all honesty, the cacti are there to remind me of the hurdles and hurt I have gone through in my life. Keep them to shoo away my birds from nesting and also a constant reminder that we don't need to be constantly quenched or back rubbed and to remain as grounded as possible. It is there spread out majestically to remind me that hurdles come and go in the form of human beings.

I am so happy that I have a nephew B who is also interested in these thorny plants. Whenever he shares his pics, I am in awe and they always look so pretty!!!
I did seek friends' advice on how to incorporate this in my cooking. A friend shared that it helps to heal second degree burns, another suggested not to over do it as it always behaves as a laxative! I googled and found a nice video and am sharing the same technique followed by that lady with a few add ons .

I got some diced and packaged aloe Vera from the green grocer's nearby. I pulsed it well with buttermilk, a tsp. of pepper corns, cumin seeds and salt. Together they made a fine blend.
I also added a nice dash of hing/asafoetida as per the video and then added my own twist by throwing in shredded ginger, sliced shallots, split green chillies and curry leaves.

Tasty!!!
