DIWALI-Be Safe/Eat Consciously and Avoid Polluting the environment

Always love making a crumble-one of the closest feel one has with the ingredients in question...no spatulas, ladles, blah...blah...blah, just the most handy tools in the kitchen-your hands :)

The Choco Crumble

Take 2 cups of MTR Gulab Jamun Mix, I guess any brand would do, I had MTR, so I used that; a cup of butter, half a cup of sugar, I've used brown sugar; half a cup of cocoa;quarter cup chopped walnuts, I've used sliced almonds and half a tsp of vanilla essence.

Preheat the oven, mix all the ingredients mentioned above with your hands so as to form a crumble, grease a nice baking dish, place the crumble into it and level it with a palette knife or a spoon. Bake for twenty minutes. Can be served with ice cream for contrast and texture.

Date Delight

I have just eyeballed the ingredients-say half a packet of MTR mix, quarter kilo of finely chopped dates and almonds; take any dry fruits of choice as well;two tbsp of condensed milk, around 50 gm butter, half a cup of dessicated coconut, half a tsp of baking powder.

Preheat the oven, all the above mentioned ingredients mixed thoroughly, placed in a greased baking tray and place in the oven to bake for thirty minutes.

Slice them neatly and arrange in plates of choice to serve the guests. Simple homemade sweets!
