Leftover Funnel Cake/puttu Uppuma

Whenever  you have left over Puttu-either wheat/gothambu or Red rice/white rice, and you do not know what to do with it, here is a variation to your Uppuma.

Dice an onion, add it into a skillet with spluttered mustards and a tsp of urad dal, a few curry leaves, dry red chillies and a finely chopped green chilly. As it browns, add in your left over puttu, if the puttu doesn't have enough salt, add in some more salt keeping in mind that you had steamed your puttu with salt, so adjust accordingly!

If you would like to add other vegetables also, please do-carrots,peas are all good options. There are people who add cashewnuts and raisins...like I mentioned in an earlier post, be the experimental cook whenever you don the apron...who is going to crib? you are the creator of your dish...but always take care about the condiments used as they should be fresh, plus be low on your salt, sugar and very, very stingy about drizzling in your oil or ghee- For obvious health reasons only!

Please go through an earlier post on Uppuma or Red Funnel Cake for the preparation of Puttu or steamed funnel cake.
