Copper Chimney

Ok, now this is going to be one of my worst posts as my memory fails me and I can't find the bill. I usually tuck it somewhere safely in my bag so that I can go through it while blogging ....hmmm...Ok I have a different definition for "safe"...it's literally lost in the ocean of bills and other personal stuff!!! Very bad, very disorganized!!! Well that's my bag!
The picture above shows the mint dip to go with the starters and the pickled shallots which is seen on all tables along with some papads!

Now why am I beating around the bush...I am not sure of the exact names of the dishes hence unable to do justice to this post. Nevertheless, this was the place we went as a part of my birthday dinner!!! Yaaaaaay!
Copper Chimney. Luckily, we did reserve so we got our table. There were many waiting outside and the inside was jam-packed with the gorgeous aroma of food!!! Ok food mixed with various deodorants/sprays/perfumes whatever!! We were here mainly to dig into a fantastic non-veg meal!
Our drinks-the husband went in for this horrible Cucumber mojito. He just hated it owing to the sugar syrup which made the drink quite sweet. He expected it to be subtle in flavour. Smart arse like me enjoyed my pineapple juice with curry leaves ...I truly forgot the sequence in which they were worded. It worked really well with my palate! The kids had some chocolate shake as seen behind the mojito.

Lovely Hariyali Paneer Tikka, succulent lamb Sheekh Kebabs and some chicken dish as starters were ordered. Everything was superbly and delicately done and it filled us for a while as we slowly nibbled our way through our food. It is on very rare occasions that we go out as a family-the younger one invariably opts out of the family outings! So am glad that the birthday was a bonding moment that he respected.
A few side dishes were ordered to go with our Biriyani. Terribly sorry that I can't remember the names, but they were all beautifully cooked and tasted divine! The mutton biriyani was mindblowing!
The four of us shared two such dums (closed clay vessel exclusive for such cooking) We also had a few rotis to go with our sides.
The ambiance was nice as people were streaming in and out. Food was being generated at such a rapid pace ...we didn't have to wait for long as well. Service was impeccable! The waiter ensured that our glasses were filled and our plates were cleared as we finished a dish or two.

Extremely busy kitchen. I loved the place for the food, it is ideally located on TTK road, Chennai quite close to our area. There is valet parking.
It is an expensive place but we felt there was true value for what we gobbled down that evening so no bad after thoughts or complaints. I couldn't take too many pics as there were too many people seated in and around.
We didn't have any desserts as the four of us were quite full. Besides that we also opted not to have the dessert as dessert was awaiting us home in the form of my friend's gorgeous red velvet cake!

Would I visit this place again: Certainly and with family! Or with whoever is willing to dutch!

Tonight was my night with Shaan, listening to all his beautiful melodies and one such is the one below from Jab We Met.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ppf8QPSEvV4 so true about Journeys...some journeys are so much better than the sitting at home. I loved this movie as well! Enjoy! More melodies in the posts ahead!
