Moringa Juice/Drumstick leaves Juice
I had been having this craving for Moringa stir fry, Moringa thoran... Moringikya or drumstick leaves in all its avatars...They are power packed and rich in antioxidants ...blah blah blah blah blah...WTF! When did I become such a nutritionist overnight?
I certainly am not but I love many things green...In fact ask me what's my favourite colour?...Come on ask me!!! Being in my favourite place at the moment, am not very sure where to source them but I have understood that it is seen fresh early mornings and later in the evenings at certain vantage points. Some vegetable vendors do have them.
Thus, a casual chat on one of the social medium between a friend and I solved this for me the easy way. The friend bought this for me quite fresh after the evening walk and then we sat and gossiped a while...Got my mojo back after that gossip...was a little...No really down... owing to "one of those days" moments and it's killing me with age...Sheesh! Also am really short on Iron...Need some Ironmen (read greens) to really pump back my mood. Started to look more tired on my face said the friend! Reshuffling and adding more greens to the diet. Uff!!! The body is really talking to me, warning me...genetic coding, wiring all coming into play through all the secret little channels...I hear them loud and clear!!!
Grateful to you my friend for buying me this, I made this silly lil drink to boost my ego, to feel rejuvenated...been doing a lot of reading as far as health drinks are concerned. So I just put a handful of leaves after stripping them off their stems along with water, added honey to taste (for sweetness) and a dash of lime and had three shots glasses at a go. It will work its magic internally!
This is a hard to swallow but healthy drink to have as it almost seems like gobbling down a can of PUKE...Oops! Did I just say that? Please google and read on all its benefits and take an educated call when you blend them.
You could dice and blend in a few watermelon wedges which would certainly alter the taste and take it a notch further. It would be more on the sweet side. Fresh Orange juice would seem nice too!
I did sieve my drink. If you want to see some fizz in the drink, you may add the carbonated soda...but then it is no longer healthy! Right?
I do love sweet stuff but in a conscious kind of way... but need to take it off my radar gradually as eventually all things sweet will sweet-coat their way through each of our organs. I do want to be around to see a grandchild or two so as the shot glass says-"When Life Gives you Lemons, grab Tequila"
And to let you on my favourite colour-I love Olive green! Stay tune for more recipes-(both Moringa and others) bulldozing their way through in the next couple of hours or days!
