Chaat Bazaar@Dr. Nair Road, T-Nagar
Thoroughly enjoyed the dine-in experience here. Loved the ambiance and found it to be ideally located for the shoppers buzzing in and around the area. There is a chaat counter where one pays upfront and a token called out alerts you that the order is ready, but for those going in for things beyond the chaat are requested to follow a flight of stairs that lead to the upstairs dine-in area. The service was impeccable( it could be different for somebody else) and we got our food in less than ten minutes. There is an offer going on until mid April, 2015 I think for lunch, you buy a lunch thali and get one free :) Should try that out soon! I have included a picture of the cling wrapped thali (the ongoing offer) on display. For somebody who craved for a chaat, this served the purpose! There is ample space for at least five cars I presume! Bang opposite to one of the walls (across the road facing Dr. Nair Road) of Holy Angels School. Let's say we had our chaat and other food/drink for roughly Rs.300 per head. I forgot to click a dish or two :( Nevertheless, it's a place I would positively visit again!)
Just incase you want to plan out after viewing the right hand side of the card as well.
Loved all the pics on display, gave us an impression that we were in the gallis/streets of Delhi or Mumbai!
Not a great visual display with my cell phone-this is the offer going on :)
Translation: "A true Indian's stomach (pet) can be filled only with an Indian Meal/food(khane)"
Bhel puri-could be easily shared between two adults!
The Aloo parathas which came with their usual accompaniments!
Tandoori Paneer Tikkas along with the dip!
The Dahi Aloo tikki-loved this to bits...I went in for having this in mind. Look at that riot of colours!
Incredible India indeed displaying all its splendour, chaos and the daily humdrum of life!
The seating on the upstairs dine-in area, much different from the downstairs chaat area.
The lunch thali -Rs.200 "Buy One Get One Free" Will be trying out one shortly!
The presentation of the Sweet Punjabi Lassi was so pretty in those earthen glasses-wanted to click a picture but couldn't , the salted ones were brought in a plastic tumbler.
The food was indeed Yummilicious! For a place that perhaps started two or three months ago in the shoppers' paradise area (Pondy Bazaar) of Chennai, India, I thoroughly loved the experience!
OK THIS IS THE UPDATE AFTER HAVING THEIR LUNCH...Oh Yumm!!! You really wouldn't want to miss this offer. It was really filling...I skipped the rice totally and had the rotis that they served.
The cold buttermilk served initially.
I just had these rotis, had to skip the lunch as I was too full by then!
Rotis, plain white rice, butter paneer, cauliflower and potato ensemble, Rajma curry, Dal, Papads, Boondi Raitha and Gulab Jamun as a dessert. Very delicious and so perfect!
