Yule Log (White)

That was the recent bake along coinciding with our bakes for Christmas. The recipe doesn't call for flour. As I wanted to use flour, I made a vanilla Swiss roll/roulade.
I broke away from a the typical Yule Log by making it white as I was totally inspired by the recent film that I watched Interstellar.
The inspiration of the white predominating the dark was drawn from that particular backdrop in the film where there is a stunt between Matt Damon and Mathew McConnaughey ...Oh I do hope I got his spelling right!!!
I decided to use some left over coffee buttercream that I had in a piping bag to cover the Log. Ran a fork through to form the strokes on the log. Sprinkled desiccated coconut over it along with green sugar crystals and grated dark chocolate.
Filled the log with strawberries and bits of left over chocolates for the family to nibble and bite into and thus the sponge was rolled.
That's a part of the eaten log. I also made separate chocolate leaves using a leaf mould and just added it to the white log to give a feel of a white Christmas.
