Corn On The Cob

 This was an inspirational cooking.

Baby corn is always there in my fridge and there's always popcorn as well. The latter is for all the movie nights both my beloved and I sit and watch soon after some news and dinner.
I play around with baby corn quite a lot in many recipes. You may chance to stumble upon a few grilled stuff with baby corn :)

Had visited my brother recently and there he took us all out for dinner one night and at one of those famous places exclusive for barbecues, they had corn on their menu as well and that inspired me to do this recipe. I loved the taste and the look of those beautiful cobs of corn all charred and smoky. Of course I have my limitations as I am cooking at home and am constantly clicking pictures. My camera's a mess with grease here and there, sad but that's how my crazy life has been since Pa's sudden demise.
The corn was chopped like so and placed in a marinade of Eastern Chicken Fry masala, olive oil and barbecue sauce. The trio was a deadly combo. Of course don't forget your salt. Coat them all with this marinade as shown in the pictures, set them aside for a while before placing them on your hot grill or on your hot tawa.
I have used a silicone oil brush to help me coat the corn without burning my fingers in that masala. At this juncture I would advise that your could use Zaiqa's Al-Faham Grill spice as a marinade to coat your corn.
Oh Yumm! I like it spicy! Please don't be alarmed at this colour, it wasn't as spicy as it looks!
...and here is the whole corn on the cob. Couldn't find it later during the afternoon, love my husband who is the perfect guinea pig-he enjoyed it thoroughly and had it while he was working. That's the beauty of having him around working from home!

Since my Pa's passing back in Dec 2011, the husband's been with me! During our young lives, we have been separated owing to his job and he was abroad most of the time, we used to meet during my break from my students or when our kids got their break from school. We never really got to be with each other and now it is Bliss! we are literally bumping into each other-infact these are the days we read the newspapers together, cook and clean up the place, work on the same table...he typing his stories...political!!! grrr...boring! and me blogging about food and loads of movie nights chez nous!

So it is just nice to have him around as my guinea pig to try out all my experiments from the kitchen...so I really don't care that the corn on the cob went missing! Consciously or unconsciously, he has slipped into Pa's shoes and has taken the reins from there ensuring that I never missed my father :(

Let it get such an effect. Have it nice and hot on a rainy day or a wintery night.
Ensure that all sides of the corn is evenly cooked. Enjoy!
