Pizzarazzi-Tuscana Kryptos @Chamiers Road, Chennai
Midlife craziness, a bag full of quirky accessories(read my junk jewellery) and props, my inhaler incase I hyperventilate at the nervousness of the event due to follow, my third eye(My camera) and the confidence I drew from the enthusiasm and exuberance of my fellow CFG ians...that was me three days ago at the event organized by Tuscana Kryptos on the ninth of April between four and six pm.
I trudged along to share and learn from others. It was an event where Pizzas were the cynosure of the Paparazzi...(of course we weren't the Paparazzi, we were just a bunch of like-minded amateurs some professionals as well who all beelined with one purpose and focus-"Pizzas for a photoshoot and not to wolfed down") hence the coined word Pizzarazzi! WOW! loved the very feel of that online invite.
Little did I see myself as a participant until my friend KG came along...If it weren't for him, I would have just clicked pics for the sheer passion of food photography...I needed that push or stern coaxing! indebted to him :)
My appreciation first goes towards all the hands that lay aside their afternoon work schedule for kneading the dough, flattening the bases, throwing the toppings of choice and baking the Pizzas for us- the unsung heroes...I am grateful for all those almost confused, young men with quizzical expressions who attended to all the needs of the photographers, food bloggers as we pulled their strings like puppets-"a basil leaf here, some chilly flakes there...no not here...over there, drizzle the olive oil slowly and steadily" so on and so forth...no cribbing faces, they sweat the same way as we did in the sun as I chose to bask in the sun along with the pizzas and do an outdoor shoot instead of the indoor one.
Pizzas were displayed indoors as well but I feel the most comfortable to shoot food in the confines of my own home hence decided against the indoor shoot at the restaurant.
Soft drinks were provided at intervals to quench our thirst and boy were they refreshing!
I clicked a few of the Pizzas at all the angles possible with all my beautiful and unconventional props until I felt the sun had drained me of my energy and my ebullience had sunk...a nice cup of coffee would have rejuvenated me...a quarter to six, needed to get back to the family!
Mr. Vipin Sachdev, managing director of Tuscana Kryptos...grateful for the lovely afternoon and the opportunity you gave us to invade your space and raid as well as hog the edible pizzas that were churned-up later on for us participants. Thank you for the hospitality and sharing some of your experiences with us.
Indeed an event that was almost poetic...loved the outdoors, the sun against the stone, the pebbles, the greenery and all that food on the wooden platters...perfect to capture through a lens.
My family and I have ordered the Pizzas earlier as well and we did enjoy them on both occasions mainly for the thin crusts and it's almost devoid of cheese!
Pricing maybe a bit too high for us but we've enjoyed the pizzas delivered to us!
Once again heartfelt gratitude to your staff and to you Mr. Vipin. Thank you CFG for the opportunities paved for us to make this yet another eventful and memorable day! I would rate the place a 5/5.
May the best Woman or Man win. The experience itself was truly the victorious moment!
