Meat Ball Curry

Will update this recipe shortly...going out to do some simple Christmas shopping! am not a shopper unlike most women...but I can get lost in any shop that sells crockery, pots, pans etc.

I would whiz past a clothes' shop and I literally run away from salespersons after me with cosmetics/perfume. That's not for me at all!!! No thank you Honey! and I do not trust those "Before and After make overs"

Sorry readers...just updating the recipe...got caught up with a long list of things that kept me busy and away from jotting down the recipe. With the tutoring stopped for the X'mas break, I was more at peace with myself. Will see my students in 2013 :)

So here goes, do check my mince recipe either chicken/mutton.Grind it further in the food processor along with cilantro. Ensure that the meat is flavorsome and spicy/to your liking, do add adequate salt and do be mindful about that. Adjust the salt in the curry accordingly.

Along with a handful of cooked rice, make small lemon sized balls with the cooked ground meat and set it aside in the fridge.

Slice onions, tomatoes, slit green chillies and saute them in a tbsp. of oil after crackling a tsp of mustard in the oil, saute till the onions become translucent and everything almost looks mushy.

To it add ginger-garlic paste, chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and adequate salt and store bought rasam masala/Kuzambu masala and continue to toss them all about until the raw smell leaves the vessel, then add in some tamarind extract and sufficient water and allow the mix to boil for nearly eight to ten minutes.

By now, the liquid would seem slightly reduced and thicker, slowly slip in the meat combined with rice balls into this boiling solution, and let it continue to cook for a while.

Check all seasoning and thickness of the curry. Do not add any excess oil. All the spices are to your taste and liking. If you do no wish to use all these spices, then the rasam masala or the Kuzhambu masala is sufficient.

To be served hot!

Credit goes to the husband who diligently made this for us as my feet hurt that day and was quite unwell to cook. I ground the already cooked meat for him and helped him locate all the spices...I keep shifting sutff around in the kitchen :0

Kids ate well! It's almost like having those vadas in your rasam! Sppppppppicy!
