Spicy Idlis

Nothing really fascinating or new about these type of Idlis...as these days, Idlis and many other food have taken various avatars! Well, I got nostalgic preparing these recently-this is the way my mother used to make us Idlis while we were growing up!
Boy! I used to get real mad at her for dumping in fragments of ginger, curryleaves, slit chillies and at times finely chopped onions in the fermented Idli batter. But now, as a foodie and blogger,who is keen on innovation,taste,texture and presentation... I understand her motive.

We kids would just pull them out asking her why she did so...but she continued to flavour and spice up our idlis till she was no more...
