Oats Dosa

Soak some chickpeas overnight. Pressure cook it after draining the overnight water. Grind the chickpeas coarsely once it cools down with two pods of garlic, sesame  oil, toasted sesame seeds, salt, cumin powder, chilly powder, finely chopped onion, finely chopped cilantro and a green chilly. This would almost resemble a vada or Hummus recipe(Both are there on my blog) To this add a cup of rolled oats.

Oil your palms well and oil the foil or banana leaf that would help you to pat down the shape like so...pinch a bit of the above prepared dough and form the shape and then slide it over a hot griddle so that it would cook both sides well.

Once cooked  on both sides thoroughly serve it on its own or with any accompaniment. I have served it with some potato curry.

My relationship with Oats goes a long way-when I was carrying my older son, I was at my mother's in my home town for my delivery . I think this chap used to directly take in all what I consumed because I was often hungry...Look at him now, he is almost six feet two inches now :) My mother used to make me Oats with milk to keep me satisfied and I ate it wholeheartedly to keep him full-thus Oats made happy souls out of grandmother-mother and son :)
